Andrew James Rothman


Andrew James Rothman is responsible for the development and management of the Rutgers Law Associates Program in Newark and in Camden. He also teaches various upper-level courses including New Jersey Practice, Nonprofit Corporations, and Professional Responsibility, and has taught Advanced Contracts, Appellate Advocacy, and Evidence. For several years he taught in the Community Law Clinic.

Professor Rothman holds a B.A. from Yale University, an M.F.A. (sculpture) from the University of Pennsylvania, and a J.D. from Rutgers Law School. Prior to attending law school, he served as assistant dean and instructor at Parsons School of Design. Following graduation from Rutgers Law School, he practiced law at Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith, Ravin & Davis and thereafter at Goldstein Lite & DePalma, and at Goldstein Lem, LLC.

At the law school, Professor Rothman is responsible for the development and management of the Rutgers Law Associates Program in Newark and in Camden, coordinating its educational component, supervising all of the legal work performed, and serving as its managing attorney. He previously served as associate dean for student affairs of the law school, providing counseling and academic advisement, and general oversight of all aspects of student life.

Professor Rothman has for almost a decade served on the New Jersey Supreme Court Civil Practice Committee.
